  Library in a Box

The Twinsburg Public Library "Library in a Box" Program is designed for teachers who need multiple copies of one title, or need special collections to supplement their classroom and school library. This is a pilot project, starting in January of 2001. More titles and collections will be added depending on the teacher suggestions. Materials are funded by the Twinsburg Public Library's General budget. This project grew out of TPL'S five year plan objective to share resources and cooperate with the Twinsburg School District, teacher requests and recent budget cuts for school libraries. When all phases are complete the collection will be threefold:
1. Multiple copies of novels.
2. Boxes containing 15 individual novels to supplement classroom libraries for silent reading programs.
3. Collections of non-fiction books to supplement unit lessons.

Library in a Box Procedures

This collection is intended for educator and classroom use. Local residents teaching in other school districts may borrow the items, but please consult the procedures regarding delivery. Boxes may be checked out for 2-4 weeks on teacher loan cards. They may be renewed if there are no other requests. Renewals can be made by phoning the YA Librarian. There is no limit to the number of boxes a teacher may have out at one time. Bookings must be done through the YA Dept 330.425.4268 x 6, via e-mail, or in person.
Fiction titles available
Non-fiction titles available
The Young Adult Librarian requests at least 1 day notice to confirm the item is not booked, and to check items out. Other library staff cannot arrange these bookings.Teachers may pick up boxes, or have them delivered by the YA Librarian. (Delivery will only be available to Twinsburg schools) Boxes need to be returned to the YA Department. Teachers are fine exempt, but materials need to be returned by semester or year end.
