Douglas Adams’, author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, put it best when he wrote “Space is big. REALLY big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the street to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts to space.”

Would you like to understand just how mind-bogglingly big the planets, stars, and galaxies are? Then, this program is for you! Presented by the Astronomy Club of Akron, Scale of the Universe will blow your mind with how large the Sun is compared to the Earth and how small the Sun is compared to other stars in the Milky Way and beyond. After the program,  join us at Liberty Park for some after-library-hours stargazing (weather permitting). Bring your telescopes or binoculars and a towel. Children 8 years old and up must be accompanied by an adult.
