They have finished the drainage and sewer replacement of the entire area. The new front walk is in place and the paver bricks will be done on Friday morning. The stabilization of the back half of the parking lot will be finished today. Now it has to cure for 7 days. Then they will pave and paint the lines which will take about a day. Looking at the calendar, stabilization work will probably start on the front half of the parking lot and driveway after Labor Day. At that time we will be able to use the new back half (and drive up area), however, access will have to be through the High School teacher's parking lot and the connector drive. Signs will be posted. --Rick Smith (Building & Grounds) Tuesday, August 21st, 2007Drive-up window service is suspended during this phase of our parking lot reconstruction; our old book return is available next to the main entrance; the first three rows of parking will be open during phase one (10 days to 2 weeks). Library thief who used her children to steal almost $17,000 worth of Library materials from local libraries will get jail time. As of 08/03 the contractor is just about done with the first half drainage. They are going to clean up the work area and temporarily pave over the ditches so it can be used. Next week they will work on the other half and begin the front walk. We have asked that they remove the cement and repave all the way up to the doors as that part is cracked in two places. This will avoid having to do additional work in that area in a few years. The access point in the front walk will be covered with a solid concrete cover.
