BLAST! Babysitter Training

BLAST! (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training is an important training program for potential babysitters and parents considering hiring a babysitter. The BLAST! program is exciting and interactive, providing extensive training in pediatric first aid, household safety, and the fundamentals of childcare. Features include:
• Most current practices for safety and injury prevention while babysitting
• First Aid basics for emergency response
• Quick references tools for babysitters
• Fun, easy to follow booklet
• National Certification through the Academy of Pediatrics
Designed for people ages 12-16, the BLAST! program can prepare children to interview for a babysitting job, select safe and suitable games and activities, prevent accidents, perform first aid, and begin babysitting safely and competently.

Cost is $50 payable by check at the beginning of class. Checks should be made out to: Twinsburg CPR and Safety. Includes all program materials and certification. Participants should bring a bag lunch, a doll large enough to diaper, and a pen or pencil.  Parents should come in with their children at the start of class to fill out an emergency contact card.  Registration is required.

Kirigami Cards

Send friends and family original cards this year. Join us at the library to make one-of-a-kind holiday cards using basic kirigami techniques. No experience required. For children in grades 4-6.  Registration is required.

Shmoop Test Prep and Learning Guides

The Twinsburg Public Library now offers access to Shmoop! Shmoop offers Test Prep and sample PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP Exams as well as more than 600 Learning Guides in ten subjects: Literature, Poetry, Shakespeare, Bestsellers, U.S. History, Civics, Economics, Biography, Music, and Pre-Algebra.

Volunteer at the Library!

The library needs lots of help this all year long! What a great way to earn your required community service hours for graduation.

All volunteers are required to complete an application before beginning their hours. 

Pick up an application in Children's Place or print it out here and bring it back to the Childrens Room.
